Dr Phua

Dr Phua started teaching Chemistry since 2006. As a late bloomer who won his first competitive overseas scholarship at age 24, he has inspired and coached local and foreign students in their own academic journeys and decisions.

Dr Phua makes difficult chemistry concepts easy to learn at O/A/IP levels by associating lessons using many real life examples. As a skilled tutor, he helps students identify and avoid common mistakes in examinations. As a responsible and patient teacher, students have always felt that Dr Phua got their back every step of the way.

In his free time, he keeps himself in shape by hitting the gym regularly while keeping in check a long term muscle injury from Wushu training sustained when he represented Singapore in the 13th Asia Games. Otherwise, he enjoys working with his hands doing wood carpentry.
