Junior College Programme Math

Our Junior College Math classes are designed to stretch students by developing the analytical and higher-order thinking skills the A-Levels demand.

Content proficiency

Students will build fluency across the H1/H2 Mathematics syllabus — functions and graphs, calculus, vectors, complex numbers, and statistics and probability — and learn to apply these tools to unstructured, application-style problems. Lessons emphasise rigorous working, clear mathematical communication, and the exam technique needed to perform under A-Level conditions.

Practical skills & techniques

Using experiment-based questions, we help your child draw upon learned concepts while making lessons relevant to real-life situations.

Skills and Techniques

Apply logical thinking skills and heuristics to tackle complex problems, including Polya’s 4 step problem solving model.

  • Preparation: Understanding the problem.

  • Thinking: Devising a plan.

  • Insight: Executing the plan.

  • Verification: Looking back.

Practical Application

Gain an appreciation of how problem-solving skills apply in life through practical application in projects, puzzles, and investigative games.

Reinforce concepts by drawing references from actual applications like calculating one’s carbon footprint.
